Garden
committee is thrilled to see the 2011 growing season off to a
great start. The committee is excited about the addition of the
third community garden site at
St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, which includes 24 raised beds.
The new site is a collaboration between St. Alban's and
Lincoln
Elementary School
. Staff, students and their families have a vested interest in
this community garden site. The first site was established in
2009 at First Presbyterian Church with 36 raised beds and the
second site was established in 2010 at
Good
Shepherd
Lutheran
Church
with 20 raised beds. Each
site allows many new gardeners to enjoy growing their own
vegetables using the square foot gardening technique. We are
proud to have a total of 80 beds between our three community
gardens.
